It’s FriYAY and today’s lipstick is a pretty odd one — my favorite purple lipstick. You all know me, I’m a wuss with lipstick colors. I try to stick to what already works for me and never stray to The Dark Side (or should I call it The Crazy Lipstick Shade Town instead?). But there are days when I chance upon these really intense, out of my comfort zone shades and I’m like, OKAY STAHP I’LL GET IT.
MAC Violetta is my (only) purple lipstick. It’s also from Rae–the gift who keeps on giving, THANK YOU! Like I said I don’t have many purple lipsticks. This is the only one and it’s a stunner. It’s also a bit difficult to wear especially if you’re me.
Violetta is an iridescent violet-purple with blue undertones (on me, I think?) that has an amplified cream finish. I mentioned it’s a bit difficult to wear because since it’s a pretty damn bold color, it will accentuate any kind of imperfection such as blemishes, bumps, veins, redness, spots, yellowness, etc. Everything needs to be sharp and flawless (much like when wearing a true blue based red such as Ruby Woo) and for me that takes a lot of time I don’t have.
